Argentina is a marvelous country located in South America; it is internationally known for its natural resources and the incredible extension of its territory which has a wide range of landscapes and climates. It is also admired for its culture known worldwide and even recognized for its special features.
The cultural and historical icons include music, tango ( a type of dance which has become an icon for flirting and love conquest); besides, it is necessary to refer to the “gauchos” and mention the “Pampas”, with its geography and its template climate and richness in the agro business sector.
The beauty of Argentina has been inspiration for musicians, writers and poets who have described its charm and beauty. Argentina holds all the different landscapes that your imagination might conceive and an incredible variety of climates. It is culturally and socially varied, offering amazing cities to visit, such as Buenos Aires, or picturesque towns which still hold ancestral customs and traditions.
In Ampascachi horse riding we have started with three geographical areas, chosen for their culture and richness of their landscapes, special for equestrian tourism because of their welcoming climatic conditions. These places include the provinces of Córdoba, Salta and Jujuy.

Culture in Argentina
Argentina has its own identity, not only for its landscapes, but also for its contrasts and the wonders along its territory. It is an admirable country can be still considered as young, but with an internationally prestige for its cultural wealth in music, literature and the arts. Its hallmark is known as tango and folklore, dances and musical compositions in which human relationships and love are the main features portraying the idiosyncrasy of the Argentineans.
The gaucho is a hallmark of our culture and traditions. His racial diversity, mainly descendents of European immigrants, is shown in the variety of options in its cuisine, the traditions and the jargon in the language (they even have their own terms added to the languages). It is unquestionable that the image of the Gaucho is an icon of our culture. This character who would ride his horse, wear a “poncho” with hard leather boots; drink mate (a tea-like-infusion) and make of this his only drink during long hours of work in the Patagonian and Pampas land represents the Gaucho.
One of the sports the Gauchos inherited from their culture was the equestrian sport called: Pato (Duck Game). Part of the culture of the gauchos comes from their devotion for equestrian sports such as Pato; which is our equestrian national sport. Another equestrian sport which is well- known and practiced around the world is Polo, which is believed to have its origin in Persia. Both sports have similar characteristics: they are performed on saddle horses, have their specific rules, have fields with similar dimensions, the teams have four riders and the game comprises short and very intense periods of game.
Climate in Argentina
The climate in Argentina is considerably different because of its vast territory and its topography. The weather conditions which are mainly show warm temperatures, template to the north and centre of the country, dry and cold to the south, with a great variation in climate.
The starting dates for our riding holidays have been decided considering each climate and the rainy seasons, and that is the reason why, they are developed in the provinces of Córdoba, located in the centre of Argentina, where its climate is template and in the provinces of Salta and Jujuy located in the north east area of the country where the climate is warm.
Reasons for visiting Argentina
The main reason for visiting Argentina is the chance of amazing yourself with a wide range of cultures and landscapes which are so distinguishable, to the extent that you feel like being in many countries at the same time.
The possibility of knowing its breath- taking landscapes which are so varied and full of contrasts ranging from the forest –like ever green areas to the deserted, arid, hot zones in the north and ending with cold climate in the south.
In the rural areas there is an old tradition for horses. The Argentinean gaucho is a man on horseback.
Cuisine: Even when Argentina is widely known for its typical dish: the “asado” (charcoal roasted meat), it also offers a wide variety of options such as “empanadas” (meat pies wrapped in a thin dough), the “locro” (stew cooked with beans, vegetables and meat). We also offer international cuisine given the significant influence brought to this country by our European ancestors.
Culture: the most relevant cultural entertainments are the tango and the gauchos. Argentina holds a vast richness in its culture in literature, painting, art and music, which in many cases has become an influence to other countries in South America.
