Why tour Jordan on horseback?
Jordan is a Middle Eastern country on the east bank of the Jordan River.
Even though it is bordered by Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Israel and the Palestine Territories, Jordan is probably the safest, most peaceful and stable country of the region. Independent of your nationality, you will be kindly received.
Jordanians are passionate and proud, and the country really welcomes visitors with open arms.
With a history that has always been connected with horses, everywhere you go you will meet people willing to share their stories and experiences with you if you come near their town on your horse.
Jordan is a ascinating country full of contrasts, where you can explore its splendid deserts and its captivating wilderness while riding along trails that have remained intact for thousands of years.
Biblical scenes are something from the past in Jordan. You will see that many shepherds still wear their tunics and spur on their herds across the timeless desert.
Jordan: “The Land of Multiple Colours”
Jordan is a box of colours, an orange territory made of heat and desert. But we also find the green of its oak forests, of the pistachio plants and the wild cistus; the blue of its ravines and bays and the magenta of corals hiding in the sea.
It is bordered by Syria and Iraq to the north, Israel to the west, and Saudi Arabia to the south. It also has a small exit into the Red Sea in the south, in the Gulf of Aqaba.
It has an arid plateau that encompasses the central and eastern parts of the country (80% of the country), but it also has a highland area and natural borders such as the Great Rift Valley and the Jordan River.
Its highest peak is Jabal Umm ad Dami (1,854 metres above sea level) and its lowest point is the Dead Sea (-408 m), which makes Jordan’s landscape complex and rich. This diversity also offers multiple possibilities throughout the territory.
The 7 Pillars of Wisdom (Wadi Rum)
The climate in Jordan varies greatly. The west is dominated by a Mediterranean climate, while the eastern areas are arid desert.
