By: Nestor Imberti Posted: 13/04/2022
To clarify some aspects about the existing interpretations of the human–horse relationship, I have written three articles.
In them, I’ve tried to contrast what is contributed by the current knowledge provided by equitation science, with some traditional statements regarding horse training.
- In the first article, published on January 21, we saw how to interpret non-nutritive licking and chewing behaviour in horses.
- In the second article, published on March 4, we studied the possible influence of the human–horse bond on equine behaviour.
- In this third and last article, I will deal with the concepts of Leadership and Dominance, which are very important since they impact directly on horse training.
