Pferdehof Koaser Minerl Farm in Ampflwang
This farm is located in Ampflwang hill, nestled in Hausruckwald between Vöcklabruck and Ried im Innkreis in Upper Austria.
The history of the farm
The farm has been managed and inhabited by the Möslinger family for more than 250 years. In 1960, in connection with mechanization, the last workhorse left the farm. For years, the dairy cows alone determined life here until 1982, when the horses came back by chance and they have continuously developed into a riding stable. The warmblood mare Freya and the Haflinger mare Asta were their first horses. Both still have offspring on the farm.
Today, they can look back on more than 35 years of experience with horses and riders. Three generations live together on the farm and their own children guarantee child-friendly access.
What to expect if you visit them?
Vacations and riding at the Koaser Minerl horse farm in Ampflwang is an excellent option for family horse riding holidays.
It is a warm natural environment for riders and animals, a meeting point where riders and non-riders can enjoy equestrian activities or just relax.
For many years, the owners have explored this region on horseback for the sake of it. Today they want their guests to enjoy that experience of riding through the trails of the Hausruckwald, a unique experience for both hosts and guests. Their horses and all the natural surroundings give them the opportunity to offer that opportunity.
What can you do during your Horse Riding Holidays?
With them you can ride, and if you don’t know how to, you can learn to ride with your family and friends on their well-behaved and experienced horses around the hundreds of trails they know in the Hausruckwald.
On the farm, your children aged 2 and older can go for pony rides, where you yourself have to saddle the horses and walk with them. An experience you will never forget.
Older children can experience very relaxed, eventful vacation days with the horses in a family atmosphere in the equestrian camp.
With the farm’s programs, days are spent riding in different trails and routes every day in beautiful Upper Austria in a relaxed and quiet environment.
If you want to come with your horse, they also have a complete horse pension service, all-included for him! So, you can then go out for a ride together alone or with a guide in this beautiful place.

Well-schooled and reliable horses
Your hosts will make the perfect team by matching each rider with the right horse. That is why they have horses for children and beginners; strong men and petite women; for experienced dressage, jumping and eventing riders; for Icelandic horse lovers and cold blood enthusiasts.
Their riding horses are specialists in equestrian tourism, route and trail programs, and are used to the forest and everything you encounter while riding. They and their guests can really rely on their four-legged friends, at all paces and in all terrains.
Their horses are kept in a large herd and are brought to the corrals only when they have to exercise or graze in the winter. They are all very well behaved and fully reliable animals.
At their stables, they have horses of very different breeds and different crosses for different requirements. It’s important to highlight the ponies, Icelanders, Haflingers, Missouri Fox Trotters and Warmblood.
Riding in Hausruckwald with or without accompaniment
Every day, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, they do guided rides through the Hausruckwald at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. There are over twelve different trails through very narrow paths – almost imperceptible to the foreign eye.
These rides are suitable for children from the age of 6, adolescents and adults into old age.
As a beginner or re-entrant, you can comfortably experience riding in a guided group of beginners. The riding group is always accompanied and led by them. Beginners ride their own horses as if they had always done it. They will show you what is important at the beginning and how you sit and hold the reins safely, for both riders and horses.
As an experienced rider, you can borrow a horse and go alone or with your friends, with or without a guide.
The pace of the guided rides always depends on the ability of the rider and is individually adjusted for each ride, at the Guide’s discretion. There is a lot of open space for trots and gallops.
There is more information available about them, their farm, their staff, their horses, routes and lifestyle on their web site: https://www.pferdehof-koaserminerl.at/horseback_riding.html
